Man, 36, Docked Over Alleged Car Theft In Osun

A 36-year-old man, Akinbolade Dele, Thursday, arraigned before an Osun state Magistrate court, sitting in Osogbo, the state capital, for alleged stealing.
The police prosecutor, Mr Idoko John, told the court that the accused person committed the offence on December 31, 2018 at Ayetoro area, Osogbo.
He alleged that the accused person committed felony to wit, unlawful possession and stealing.
He further said that the accused person did unlawfully have the possession of the following vehicles: one Toyota matrix car unregistered, one Toyota corolla car with registration number FFA406GQ, one Toyota camry car with registration number KJA745AX and one Mazda bus with registration number YRE971XA, in which he could not give a satisfactory account of the vehicles.
The prosecutor said the alleged offence contravened section 516 and 410(1) of the criminal code cap 34 vol 11, law of Osun state 2002.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the allegation of stealing and unlawful possession, leveled against him by the police.
Counsel to the accused person, Mr. K. E. Nwogke, urged the court to grant his client bail in most liberal term, promising that he will not jump bail and he will provide a reliable surety.
The Magistrate, R. A. Olayemi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N1million with one surety in like sum. He said the surety must be a civil servant not less than level six and adjourned the matter to March 14, for hearing.
