Teenager Remanded Over Possession Of Sack Of Indian Hemp In Osun

For allegedly being in possession of huge quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a 19-year-old boy, Lateef Adekunle has been ordered to be remanded in Ilesa correctional centre by an Osun State Magistrate Court, sitting in Osogbo.
Police Prosecutor, Rachael Idowu had told court that the suspect committed the crime on November 4,2019 at Owode market, Okuku, Osun state.
According to Idowu, the teenager was arrested and arraigned for being in possession of Indian Hemp and breach of public peace
She said the offence is contrary to and punishable under Section 249(d) of the Criminal Code Cap 38c, Laws of Osun state.
The accused person pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding magistrate, Mrs Risikat Olayemi ordered that the boy be taken to correctional centre in Ilesa.
She transferred the case to Okuku magistrate’s court and the case is to be mentioned on November 14, 2019.
