SARS Killing: OSPOLY Union Condemns Act, Commiserates with Deceased Family

The Students’ Union Government of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree has condemned the killings of one of its member’s, Babatunde Nafiu who is an indigene of Iwo, Osun state and allegedly killed by an Officer of the Special Anti-robbery Squad popularly called SARS.
The body also commiserated with the family of the deceased as they pray for the repose of the deceased.
This was contained in a statement signed by the President and Public Relations Officer of the students’ body, Bolaji Olaniyi Ezekiel and Ogungbami Kazeem. They described it as a “gross professional ineptitude, disrespect to human dignity and disrespect to human’s”.
The students’ leader said, “Today, the people of our country now fear SARS than they fear armed-robbers which itself is appalling, we feel secured in the hands of thugs and armed-robbers than we feel in the hands of the dreadful Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS, this is the height of nuisance they’ve constituted in the society, the rampaging on their end which has weighted beyond scale”.
The Union leaders urged students’ of the Polytechnic “who run into the Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS Officers on “stop and search” activities in the institution community should call the attention of the Students Union without reluctant or hesitation”.
