2 Men Docked Over Alleged Assult On Police Officers In Osun

The Police in Osun on Thursday arraigned a 43-year -old man, Jimoh Ajayi and a 38-year -old man, Tola Adewumi before a Magistrate court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, for allegedly assaulting two police officers on special duty.
The duo were said to have conspired and assaulted one superintendent of police, Adeniyi Femi and deputy superintendent, Abioye Sanjo by holding and tore their uniform.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Joshua Oladoye told the court that the accused persons committed the offence on October 10, 2018 at about 11:30 am, at the magistrate court 3, Okefia area, Osogbo.
He added that the accused person maliciously damaged one recommended eye glass and cloth valued at N10,000 belonging to Deputy Superintendent, Abioye sanjo.
Oladoye said the accused persons by action have committed an offence contrary to Section 516(A) of Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11 Laws of Osun state Nigeria 2003.
The counsel to the first accused person, Mr Kazeem Badmus told the court that the offence committed by the accused is different from the count written in the charge sheet.
While the counsel to the second accused person, Mr O.A Adebiyi informed the court that the accused person was not guilty to the 10-count charge levelled against him.
The Magistrate, Mrs A.O Ajanaku thereafter granted the accused persons bail in sum of N250,000 with a surety who is responsible and must be a civil servant.
The case was later adjourned till 19th December 2018.
