High Court Remands 8 Suspects For Allegedly Defrauding Lawmaker In Osun
No fewer than eight suspects were on Tuesday remanded in prison for allegedly defrauding the leader of the Osun State House of Assembly, Honourable Timothy Owoeye.
Justice Maureen Oyetenu of Federal High Court Osogbo, Osun state who gave the order said that the suspects be kept behind the bar and dirrected thier counsel to formally apply for thier bail.
The accused persons are: Kazeem Agbabiaka, Femi Oyebode, AbdulRasheed Ojo Nla, Babatunde Oluajo, Adebiyi Kehinde Oseni, Oyebanji Oyeniyi, Ismaila Azeez and Awodunmola Kehinde
Accused were arraigned on seven counts charge bordering on conspiracy, pretence that they want to avert death foresaw on him and advance free fraud contrary to section 8(a)(b) and (c) punishable under section 1(a)(b) and (c) of advance free fraud ACT 2010.
Prosecution counsel from the Ministry of Justice, Barrister Moses Faremi substituted the previous charge preferred against the accused persons on 19th of October 2018.
Kazeem Badmus (ESQ) who appeared for the accused persons orally moved for the bail application of the accused but the prosecuting counsel was against the bail due to sensitivity of the matter.
After hot argument in the point of law, Justice Oyetenu ordered the counsel to the accused to present written bail application before the Court.
Justice Oyetenu then ordered the accused persons to be remanded in prison and adjourned the matter to the 26th day of November 2018.
