Editors Laud Aregbesola on Infrastructural Development, Say Osogbo Has Been Transformed
The Nigerian Guild of Editors has lauded the Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola for his administration’s efforts at transforming the state.
The Guild led by its President, Funke Egbemode stated this while leading the NGE Standing Committees on an inspection tour of the state which was conducted by Governor Aregbesola.
According to Egbemode, the massive infrastructural facelift coupled with the relative peace in the state are pointers to the achievements of the present administration.
The NGE President who is an indigene of Osun State noted that since the inception of the Rauf Aregbesola government, the state especially Osogbo the capital has been transformed from a gale town to a beautiful city.
She also applauded the Governor for making the state investor friendly through his six-point integral action plan.
“Obviously so many things have changed in Osun. I am from this state and I come home occasionally and each time I come there is always a new thing to see.
“I am so happy that we now have a cleaner and more beautiful state, it is great to see that there is a lot of improvement in Osun.
“A governor that is able to attract businesses and investors to his state through direct masses-oriented programmes like the O’Meal, OYES and others has done well.”
Aregbesola, who took the team on a voyage round his administration’s projects including the November 27 Inter-change bridge along Gbongan road, the 18km Oba Adesoji Aderemi east Bye Pass all in Osogbo, advocated for more productivity from the leaders and the led.
He argued that if the nation produces more with the citizens adding value to the economy, the nose-diving state of the nation’s economy will soon be history.
The Governor also berated the high handendness of some public office holders who channel Nigeria’s resources to catering for their welfare.
“If we have ever paused to ask why we are how we are in this nation, we will discover that lack of productivity is at the root of our economic problems.
“The large chunk of the nation’s wealth is in the hands of few while majority wallow in abject poverty. And this resources is not utilised for any development”, Governor Aregbesola stated.
