Senator Asks Buhari To Declare State Of Emergency On Security In Osun
Senator representing Osun Central Senatorial District, Dr Ajibola Basiru has raised an alarm over the spontaneous acts of brigandage unleashed on the people of Osogbo by thugs suspected to be working for the Peoples Democratic Party.
In a statement, Senator Basiru regretted that infamous PDP scoundrels popularly known as Alowonle and Ado Igbona went about town, after the Tribunal’s pronouncement that sacked Ademola Adeleke, destroying his (Basiru’s) billboards.
He said: “The acclaimed PDP miscreants didn’t stop at that. They were shooting indiscriminately, throwing people into panic. It is clear that the PDP is briefly in power to wreak havoc on lives and property.”
“I use this medium to call on the Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest the situation and bring the culprits to justice. And if the violence will not stop, the Federal Government should declare a State of Emergency in Osun to keep the people safe.”
Senator Basiru described the PDP as a party that has zero regard for the rule of law, wondering how the reaction of the party to a court judgment would be harassment of the people who they spuriously claimed voted for them.
The statement called on APC supporters and loyalists to remain calm and not be provoked into reprisals.
In less than two weeks,PDP thugs have descended on the billboards of Senator Ajibola Basiru three times; on the 16th of this month and on the 25th which was two days ago and now today.
