Lagos LG Poll: Adebayo Assures Orile Agege LCDA Residents Of Purposeful, Responsible Leadership
A Chairmanship Aspirant in Orile Agege Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Adeboye Adebayo has assured the residents of the Local Council of an accountable, purposeful and responsible leadership if elected.
Adebayo, while responding to a poser raised by an army of youths in Amoo area of the council on Sunday explained that the residents of the local government deserve more dividends of democracy in terms of physical infrastructure, employments creation and meaningful empowerments
He promised to carry along all stakeholders in the council by operating on the principle of openness, transparency and all inclusive governance.
According to him, “grassroots development is the bedrock of the development of the nation and the concentration of development at the local government level would help in eradicating poverty in the country.
He added that his experience as a political activist and youth development advocate will help in delivering better governance to the people.
Adebayo stressed that his government would make sure that the projects to be executed in the Council Area are executed by professional contractors who are residents of the council thereby boosting the economy of the Council Area and as well creating jobs opportunities for the teeming youths of the LCDA.
The Chairmanship hopeful stated that the Local Council under his watch would not engage in projects that are not of direct importance to the lives and welfare of the people, saying that the people would constantly be consulted on their needs before embarking on any capital projects.
“The people of Orile Agege will be consulted widely before embarking on any capital project because they must have input in the process of policy formulation and implementation as my intention is to run a responsible and all inclusive government, government is for the people and people must be allowed to get involved in policy formulations for an easy implementation” Adebayo stated.
He disclosed that his programmes and policy plans for the local council will be centred on massive infrastructure developments, youths development and women empowerment, also senior citizens’ welfare, education, good health care service delivery, security and creation of enabling business environment for investors in the Local Council will not be left out.
