Baptist Organises Maiden Edition of ‘The White Sunday’

The Nigerian Baptist Convention, NBC, today organised the maiden edition of a special programme tagged “The White Sunday”.

The programme was held at the Nigerian Baptist Convention Centre, BICC, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lufuwape Ogun state.

The White Sunday was part of the programmes lined up for the 109th Annual Convention of the body.

Members of the Convention at the programme were adorned in white dressing.

The White Sunday was organised to praise God and pray for Nigeria in line with the theme of the Convention “Entering into Newness with Praise and Thanksgiving (Psalm 100:4)”.

In his message, the President of the Convention, Rev Dr Israel Akanji with the topic “Entering into Newness with Praise and Thanksgiving (Psalm 100:4)” admonished Christians to rejoice in the Lord always even when their prayers have not been answered.

He encouraged believers to add to their thanksgiving when it seems prayers have not been answered stressing that in thanksgiving, miracles happen just as witnessed with Paul and Silas.

He said “Add to your thanksgiving the time that your prayer has not been answered. We don’t thank God because we don’t think, if you think, you will thank God”.

Akanji prayed for Nigeria that “God would set ambush against the enemies of our peace in Nigeria in the name of Jesus”.
