Youths Block Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Demand Better Nigeria
Some youths have blocked the Berger end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, making bonfires on both sides of the highway.
The youths, who were armed with sticks, held banners with the inscription, “Questions for politicians and Religious Leaders. What is the future of Nigeria. All highway in Nigeria be blocked. No movement nationwide.”
Our correspondent, who passed through the route around 3.30pm on Monday, saw armed policemen trying to pacify the protesters to vacate the road.
The demonstration led to traffic on both sides of the expressway and spread to inner roads linking the highway.
