Osun APC Primary Election: ALGON Chairman, Idowu Abiodun Congratulates Oyetola On Landslide Victory

… Describes Gov’s Emergence As Testament To Quality Leadership, Good Governance

The Chairman of Osun Chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Samuel Idowu Abiodun has congratulated Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun on his victory at the just concluded Governorship Primary Election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State.

Abiodun described Oyetola’s emergence as the party’s flag-bearer as an attestation of quality representation, good governance and purposeful leadership provided by the present Administration in the last three years.

The ALGON Chairman who doubled as Ifedayo Local Government Chairman, applauded the people of the State particularly the card carrying members of the ruling party for voting massively to return the Governor as the candidate of the party for the July 16 governorship election in the State.
Abiodun stated these in a congratulatory message issued shortly after Governor Oyetola was declared winner of the poll by the electoral authority.

Recall that Governor Oyetola who has been seeking re-election polled 222,169 votes to defeat other two contenders, as the former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti polled 12, 921 votes and former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Lasun Yusuf got 460 votes.

The Council boss commended the party’s loyalists for coming out in large number to elect the Governor as their preferred candidate assuring them that they have taken a right decision.

He expressed satisfaction on the conduct of the primary election, which he described as one of the fairest, peaceful and credible elections that the country has ever had.

“I am pleased to identify with our amiable Governor on his emergence at the just concluded Governorship Primary Election. Indeed, it is a victory for democracy, good governance and quality leadership that had been provided by the progressive government in the State.

“I am not surprised that this is coming to you in view of your selfless service, prudent management of resources and monumental achievements recorded in the last three years. I am happy that our people particularly members of our great party have once again reciprocated your good intents through balloting.

“Your landslide victory at the poll has once again testified to your overwhelming support and wide acceptance from the people whose welfare and general well-being have always been your topmost priority.

“As we are celebrating in the euphoria of joy, I want to reaffirm our avowed commitment as council chairmen to continue to align with your developmental agenda and complement your efforts at our respective councils in other to facilitate the quick actualisation of the set objectives of the Administration.

“I am using this medium to appeal to our people to continue to cooperate with the government by demonstrating their love for the Governor and his government as we are moving into the governorship election proper”, Abiodun added.
