Osun At 30: Commissioner Extols Founding Fathers
— Itemises Gov Oyetola’s Unprecedented Achievements
Osun State Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties Hon Olalekan Badmus yesterday extolled the virtues of all founding fathers of the State since its creation in the last thirty years.
It would be recalled that Osun State was created in August 27/1991 from part of Old Oyo State .
Speaking with newsmen in Osogbo on the preparation to mark the thirty years anniversary of the state, the state Commissioner pointed out that a lot has happened in the development of the State in all ramifications .
The Commissioner also acknowledged their roles as well as their foresight in ensuring speedy development and bringing the State to limelight in the comity of other states.
He particularly expressed satisfaction in their developmental efforts in the areas of Education, Infrastructural development,Roads,Health Agriculture, and provision of adequate facilities for well-being of the residents.
Hon Olalekan Badmus was also of the views that their developmental efforts and visions had impacted positively on the growth and development of the State since its creation.
He particularly commended the first Military Administrator of the State Leo Ajiborisa for setting the state on a right track.
Others are Anthony Udofia , Anthony Obi, Theophillu Bamigoye , Bisi Akande, Isiaka Adeleke, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Rauf Aregbesola Administration for following up the good work of the already laid at the inception .
While speaking further he Commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his firm believe in the mission and the visions of the founding fathers of the State and for not deviating from the principle of building a strong and virile Society for enduring legacies.
He remarked that the government of Governor Oyetola has added glamour into the governance of Osun by his developmental efforts in the areas of education, health, roads infrastructural development, Agriculture, Tourism and culture, economy as well as transportation system.
While speaking on how government would encourage local industries and repositioning the economy of the State, he stressed that Governor Mr Gboyega Oyetola has given priority to the basic needs of the residents, particularly the vulnerable citizens in the State and has demonstrated the visions of the founding fathers.
The commissioner said in turning around the economy the government has not borrowed money to finance any project as he adopted financial Re-engineering to save cost .
The Commissioner further stressed that the government has set up Minning Committe as a way of consolidating on economy development while describing the move as a way of improving and enforce compliance thus setting Osun on the right path.
He said founding fathers visions has manifested with the innovation of Governor Gboyega Oyetola who has consolidated it with development in Agriculture, Minning,Culture and tourism .
He remarked that in repositioning the economy of the state inline with founding fathers visions, food support schemes was initiated to empower rural people and the vulnerable.
He stressed that under the scheme over 150,000 vulnerable households were empowered.
He eulogised the Administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, for prioritising their welfare and well-being.
He equally lauded the Administration for keeping faith with its promises, and for sustaining the food support scheme which was flagged off in April, 2021.
