Osun SSAs Felicitate With Muslims As Fasting Begins Tomorrow
The Forum of Senior Special Assistants in the government of Osun has congratulated the Muslim Community for the dawn of another Ramadan.
CityMirrorNews reports that Muslims across the globe abstain from eating or drinking between dawn and sundown during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.
The first day of Ramadan begins on April, 13, 2021. Fasting will begin at sunrise after suhur and then finish at sunset with iftar.
The Forum, in a statement by its Coordinator, Engr. Kolawole Anwo, commended the spiritual act of self-denial, cleansing, prayer, fellowship and charity that the season projects.
“Ramadan is that period when Muslims worldwide engage in fasting – a physical and spiritual act of self denial, cleansing, prayer, fellowship and charity.
“As one of the pillars of Islam, Ramadan is also a time of deep consecration to spiritual matters. It is therefore a time of spiritual awakening and commitment to the tenets of Islam.
“We urge Muslims therefore to approach the season with best practices as we share love with fellow Muslims and our neighbours. Let us be sober and do all things with moderation. Let us remember the poor, the sick, the beleaguered and those in one difficulty or another in our prayers and work of charity.
“As we celebrate this great festival of the religion of peace, may the peace and comfort of Allah SWT rest upon us, our family, community, state and nation.
“This is wishing all Muslims, Ramadan Kareem, with Love and Grace on behalf of the Senior Special Assistants in the Government of Osun”, the statement read.
