International Women’s Day: Christian Group Celebrates Aisha Buhari
By Our Reporter
National Youth leader, Congress of Northern Nigeria Christian (CNNC), has commended Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, for her contributions to governance.
The CNNC said the president’s wife made the contributions through insightful and selfless support to the processes of managing challenges of governance in the country.
The group gave the commendation on Monday in Abuja through it’s President, Engr Daniel Kadzai, while felicitating with her on the occasion of the International Women’s Day.
Kadzai said Nigerians are happy that the President’s wife has spoken to the nation after a long time, applauding her for condemning the incessant abduction of the girl child that has hitherto rocked the nation.
Recall that Aisha in her address earlier today urged Nigerian leaders to bring an immediate end to the incessant spate of abductions of women and girls in the country, calling on all stakeholders to continue to exert their different levels of influence and bring an end to the kidnappings.
CNNC however in a statement sent to our correspondent said: “We wish to acknowledge and commend the First Lady’s motherly care to the nation and in particular, her contributions to our successes through insightful and selfless support to the processes of managing challenges of governance in the country”.
Kadzai added that as first lady, Mrs Buhari supported development initiatives and always demonstrated keen interest toward ensuring that the change the APC promised Nigerians remained a shining light of its administration.
“We rejoice with you on this occasion to celebrate women, and we will always remain grateful for your guidance and support,” he said.
