Man Arraigned For Allegedly Hitting Woman In Head With Bell

Osun State Police command on Tuesday dragged a 46-year-old man, Sowemimo Olalekan before an Osun Magistrate court sitting Osogbo, the state capital for allegedly hitting a lady in head with bell.
The accused person was said to have committed the offence on February 23, 2021 at about 7:30pm at Alekuwodo area,
Osogbo.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Adeoye Kayode had told the court that the accused person did assault one Salami Mutiat by hitting her head with bell as a result which she sustained injury.
He said that the offence committed by the accused was contrary to and punishable under Section 335 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun State 2002.
However,the accused person pleaded not guilty to the allegation of assault slammed against him
Defence Counsel, Tunbosun Oladipupo applied for the bail of the accused in the most liberal term.
Oladipupo said that the suspect was still presume innocent until contrary is proved by a court of law.
In his ruling, Magistrate Abayomi Ajaala, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in the like sum.
He , therefore, adjourned the matter till April 13, 2021.
