Gov Oyetola Lauds Federal Government Over Social Investment Program
Osun State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has lauded the federal government for the training of Independent Monitors to supervise all social investment programs of the government meant to alleviate poverty and reduce unemployment among the people.
Represented by the Commissioner for Federal Matter, Mrs. Idiat Babalola at the training venue in the Local Government Service Commission, Abere, Governor Oyetola described the federal government’s social investment programs which were mirrored along the initiatives by Osun State government as a means to cushion the effects of recession brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In her remarks, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruq assured all citizens that all federal government’s social investment programs will continue and will further be expanded to cater for more than 26 million beneficiaries.
Hajiya Umar Faruq who was represented by Mrs Olasetemi Kemisola said the training was to ensure that there is proper monitoring and supervision of the fund, personnel and other beneficiaries for the program to achieve its objectives.
Participants at the training lauded the state government under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola for facilitating many federal government loans and other social investment programs that according to them, have moved many people up the ladder for self sustenance.
Also present at the program are the Senior Consultant to Governor Oyetola on Water Resources Engr. (Mrs) Tawakalit Williams, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on O’ Meals, Alhaji Fauziat Olaniyan, Osun NUJ Chairman Com. Wasiu Ajadosu among others.
