NECA Pays HuCaPAN Courtesy Visit

The Nigeria Employers’Consultative Association, NECA, on Tuesday paid the Human Capital Providers Association of Nigeria, HuCaPAN, a courtesy visit at the Association’s Secretariat in Lagos.

The NECA delegation was led by Mr. Thompson Akpabio, Deputy Director, Legal, Regulatory and Taxation. In attendance was the NECA Membership Officer/Economist, Mr. Olusola Ayodele. The delegation was welcomed to the Secretariat by the HuCaPAN Executive Secretary, Mr. Olajide Afolabi.

Akpabio speaking on behalf of the delegation reminiscent on how NECA was instrumental to the formation of HuCaPAN saying that the Association was midwifed by the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, NECA, and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, with international guidelines from the International Labour Organisation, ILO.

He said that he was excited that the Association was growing in influence, productivity and membership.

During the visit, various areas of mutual interest was discussed with both parties agreeing to continue to strengthen the relationship for optimal result.

In his response, the HuCaPAN Executive Secretary, Mr Olajide Afolabi appreciated NECA for the visit. He said that the visit showed that NECA still has HuCaPAN in its plans.

He appealed to the delegation to synergies with their member’s to ensure that only licensed human capital providers especially, those that are HuCaPAN member’s are engaged for their human capital needs.

He added that HuCaPAN would continue to promote decent jobs for all Nigerians.

Human Capital Providers Association of Nigeria, HuCaPAN, is the umbrella organisation of licenced recruiters in Nigeria, also referred to as Private Employment Agencies (PEAs).

The aims of the Association, among others, are to develop and promote International Labour Organisation (ILO) Standards and ethical practices in Recruitment, Deployment and Management of outsourced personnel in Nigeria.
