Each Governor Received N1 Billion From FG, N1.1 Billion From World Bank For COVID-19, Yahaya Bello Reveals
Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, has revealed that state governors in the country have received one billion naira each from the federal government as palliative for the coronavirus pandemic.
Bello also said, in addition, governors have signed a memorandum of understanding with the world bank to receive another one point one billion naira for the same purpose.
Governor bello gave this information during a television interview on Tuesday morning.
He said his state received the federal government’s one billion naira even though Kogi had no coronavirus infection because his state was equally affected by the pandemic, and because the funds were to assist every state.
Bello said he was the only state governor who did not sign an MoU with the world bank for the one point one billion naira fund because, as he put it, it was a one-sided agreement.
The governor denied allegations that his government hoarded CA-COVID relief packages in Lokoja or anywhere in the state.
He said those allegations were to discredit state governors and the federal government.
