Hon. Oladejo Samson Makinde; a Noble Lawmaker-Omoworare
The Senator representing Osun East and Chairman of Senate Committee on Rule and Business Senator Babajide Omoworare has joined thousands of the people of the state to mourn the death of Honourable Oladejo Samson Makinde, the lawmaker who represented Ife-Central Constituency at the Osun state House of Assembly.
Makinde passed away on December 27, 2015 at the age of 46 in Ekiti State Hospital after a brief illness.
Omoworare described Makinde’s death as shocking and unfortunate, saying that the lawmaker died at the time he was most needed to serve the state.
According to Omoworare, the late Makinde was a noble politician who has gave the best of his service to the state and Ile-Ife in particular.
The senator in a statement issued by his Media Assistant, Mr Tunde Dairo, on Friday condoled with the immediate and extended family of the late lawmaker, his friends, associates, colleagues and political party.
Omoworare statement: “Ile-Ife will always miss Igwe; he was a noble politician with friendly dispositions regardless of party and political divides.
My sympathy goes to his family, the people of Ile-Ife, the State Assembly, friends and colleagues, we just must accept the dictate of nature and take solace in the fact that he lived a remarkable life.
“The late Dejo Makinde has served Ile-Ife especially Ife Central Local Government where I hail from in several capacities.
He was a caretaker chairman, vice chairman and eventually an Honourable member of the State Assembly before his demise. His roles and contribution on the political stage will remain after him and will be missed by all regardless of political and other devides.”
“It is my prayer that God in His infinite mercies overlook his sins, grant him eternal rest, superintend over all he left behind and grant his family and everyone the needed fortitude for this period of grief.”
