By Our Reporter
The Mass Communication Alumni of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (MAOS) has greeted its members and all Muslim faithful on the celebration of the Eid-El-Fitr.
In a statement personally signed by its President, Comrade Jide Afolabi, he said that this year Ramadan was a special one because it came during a special season when the world is battling with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
He said, “The last 30-days has been earmarked for piety, sacrifice, self-denial and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
“We have learned so many lessons from Ramadan. We must not allow these lessons to be lost on us.”
Afolabi urged members to use this celebration to pray for the growth and development of the Association.
He, however, appealed to members to ensure that they abide by observing the prevention guidelines against the novel Coronavirus pandemic while celebrating.
He stressed that only good hygiene and safe distancing can help to prevent the spread of the virus.
The President said, “We are all aware of the dangerous times we found ourselves. As we celebrate, let us maintain hygienic lifestyle and keep to the new rule of social distancing. The fight against the virus is a general one and all of us must play our roles.
“Let us use this special day to pray for the end of this pandemic and the progress of our great Association.”
He urged members to continue to support the body noting that, “MAOS can only develop if we are united”.
Afolabi wished all members a wonderful celebration and prayed that Almighty Allah accept their sacrifices as Ibadah.
