Ramadan: Charles Adeyemi Urges Muslims On Piety, To Seek God’s Face Over Covid-19
As Muslim in Osun State join their counterparts all over the world to observe year 2020 Ramadan fasting, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Strategic Communication, Hon. Charles Adeyemi has enjoined faithful to imbibe the virtue of piety and pray for God’s intervention over the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the face of resilient efforts by state government to stem the disease outbreak.
Adeyemi said the sacred month of Ramadan is a period for Muslims in the state and across the country to draw closer to God, stressing on the need for them to make critical behavioural changes during this year’s fast in the face of COVID-19 challenge.
The human right activist and Social Affairs commentator in a congratulatory message to the Muslim faithful across the state state and Nigeria as a whole on the fast, urged Muslim Ulamahs
to use the period to seek the face of the almighty Allah to show mercy to mankind and wipe away the scourge before the end of the Holy month.
“The period is a time of reflection and dedication to God and as you observe this sacred devotion, remember to pray God to heal the land and free the state and entire country from the deadly Coronavirus pandemic so it can be a thing of the past before the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
“I implore our brothers and sisters to adhere to the hygiene and safety precautions to check the spread of COVID-19, including regular handwashing under running water, and use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers; wear facemasks when in public; maintain social distancing order and as much as is possible, stay at home.
