Ali told CityMirrorNews that the train was only stoned by youths around the area.

The spokesman revealed that sometimes, community people or miscreants who hang around the community, often throw stones at moving trains.

He revealed that the Corporation had on many occasions sensitized the people on the need to stop such acts.

A passenger on the train also corroborated the story that under-aged bystanders close to villages where there are substations must have thrown the stone(s).

He confirmed that the train was close to Jere junction when they heard the bang on the window.

It could be recalled that it was earlier reported that the Kaduna -Abuja bound train was attacked in Kateri, a village in Chikun local government Area of Kaduna State.

“This was the situation that some people termed to be an attack by gunmen”, he said.

‘’We have been warning, and sensitizing underaged children in most of these areas to desist from throwing pebbles at the train whenever they come out to have a view of a passing train”.
