Campus Life: Group Tasks Students to Shun Cultism, Gangsterism

One of the renowned students’ movements in the country, “Campus Reformation Movement (C.R.M)” has charged undergraduates across the nation’s higher institutions to always prioritize their studies above other consideration.

The group gave the charge through the president of Osun State Polytechnic, OSPOLY, Iree’s chapter of the organization, Comrade Miftah Saheed while welcoming the newly admitted students to the institution.

Comrade Saheed who bemoaned over the series of anti-social behaviors among the students of tertiary institutions in country, warned Nigerian students to see the need to always adhere to rules and regulations governed their respective institutions.

He said for every student to succeed in his or her educational pursuit, such fellow needs to jettison all forms of vices that could either leads to expulsion or rustication.

Saheed stressed the need for students to champion the cause of being patriotic Nigerian undergraduates and good ambassadors in both character and learning.

The president of the association who attributed some of the academic delay and interruption to student-related crisis, called on the students to always do away with anything that could impede the smooth running of academic sessions.

He expressed disaffection over what he regarded as ‘wickedness” a situation where institution is being closed down due to adverse effects of violence-related cases among the students.

According to him, every student must be law abiding, focused, disciplined and determined if truly he or she wants to be great in life.

“Nothing great could be achieved without being focused. And for every success in life, there must be regour.

“Therefore every student must see the need to work towards success in his or her academic pursuit rather than being involved in anti-success acts that could ruin one’s life.

Receiving the new students, Comrade Saheed tasked them to allow the institution to pass through them rather than passing through the institution.

He said “Be law abiding and always champion the rules and regulations governed this school”.

The president admonished the fresh students to key into the soaring reputation and integrity of the institution by being models among their counterparts in other institutions just as he cautioned them against cult-oriented organizations.

He said Campus Reformation Movement remained an ideological-based organization that can enhance academic identity of the students, urging the new students to join the Movement.
