By Jide Afolabi
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ife East, Honourable Yinka Olatunbosun has congratulated new cabinet members of the State Executive Council in the state urging them to put Osun first in carrying out their assignments.
Olatunbosun made the advice in a press statement personally signed by him in Osogbo, Osun state capital today, saying that the new Commissioners and Special Advisers should see their appointments as a privilege to serve the state.
He added that they should justify the confidence and trust of the governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola and the party, the All Progressives Congress by ensuring that they work with the Osun developmental agenda of the governor.
He stressed that the new appointees must think outside the box and help the governor to deliver on his promises to move Osun forward.
The statement said:
“I want to use this opportunity to congratulate our new Commissioners and Special Advisers. I urge you to see your appointment as an opportunity to serve our dear state, Osun, through your various portfolios.
“Ours is a progressive party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the party’s mandate is to deliver good governance to bring our people out of extreme poverty.
“The amiable governor of the state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola and his deputy, Mr Gboyega Benedict Alabi are doing this through life-changing programmes in different areas including health, education, infrastructure, and human capacity building amon others. Your addition to the team is, therefore, to further deliver dividends of democracy to our people. You must not fail in this assignment.”
The former APC aspirant to the Osun State House of Assembly noted that he was confident that with the profile of the new cabinet members and their proven track records, they would excel in their new roles.
He wished them well as he prayed for a prosperous state under the leadership of Gboyega Oyetola.
Barring any last minutes change, the new Commissioners and Special Advisers would be sworn in on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at the Office of the Governor.
