Sallah: Oriolowo Rejoices With Muslims, Calls For Religious Tolerance
Senator Adelere Oriolowo representing Osun West Senatorial District, has implored Nigerians not to discard their known agelong tradition of religious tolerance.
This, the Senator noted that if always heeded, would continue to bolster and sustain the nation’s much desired unity.
Oriolowo who is representing the senatorial district on the banner of the All Progressive Congress(APC), stated this in his Sallah message to the people.
While further stressing the need for unity as a basis for moving the country forward, he maintained that it was the only way the nation could progress.
As muslims, particularly those of his senatorial district are celebrating this year’s Eid al-Adha, Oriolowo enjoined them to remember the purpose of the celebration which is anchored on the willingness and selflessness of Prophet Ibrahim, counted as an act of obedience to God’s command.
He reiterated that “the ultimate goal of this festive period remains our collective ability to unite, live in peace and harmony, cherish one another irrespective of religious, ethnic and political differences, for sustainable development of the nation”.
Meanwhile, Oriolowo has thanked his constituents for their support over his appointment as Chairman, Senate Committee on Legislative Compliance, Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Solid Minerals, Mine, Steel Development and Metallurgy, Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Privatization, promising that he would work assiduously to impact on the lives of the people, particularly those from his senatorial district.
