Citizens Engagement: Osun Deputy Gov Gives Dialogue 365 Platform Pass Mark
The deputy Governor of Osun, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi has endorsed Dialogue 365 platforms and declared the platform as one that will enhance citizens engagement for development.
The deputy governor made the declaration at his official residence while playing host to the convener of the platform, Comrade Waheed Saka.
He commended the convener of Dialogue 365 for his contribution to human rights, youth engagement and democratic inclusiveness.
” Let me first appreciate Comrade Waheed Saka for his commitment, consistency and tenacity as an active citizen and a supporter of good governance and development. I have no doubt about his ability and sincerity to make Dialogue 365 a platform that will aid development not only in the state of Osun but also across the federation. I promise to support the platform in my little capacity.
The deputy governor also appeal to the platform in the sensitisation of the people on payment of tax as that is the only way to sustain development in the state. He said the need to raise the IGR in the state to complement whatever the government is getting from the federal government will go in a long way in helping stabilize our economy.
In his remarks a member of board of trustees of Centre for Sustained Dialogue, Mr Adetayo George- Adewoye appreciate the deputy governor for his style of leadership and his open door policy saying that he truly represent the best of what politics can offer. He assured the deputy governor that the centre will continue to support Governor Oyetola Administration in overall interest of the people.
The Convener of the Group , Mr. Waheed Saka, on his reaction stated that the platform project for 2019-2020 is advocacy against drug addiction among teenagers. The advocacy tagged #JustSayNo is to educate the teenagers on the effect of drug addiction and the yneed to say no to drug regardless of societal and peer influence. He promised to take the advocacy to all middle schools in the state and beyond.
