Aare Gani Adams Storms Osun For Ikoyi Annual Festival

Ahead of this year Osun-Ikoyi annual festival, the Olukoyi of Ikoyiland in Isokan South Local Council Development Area of Osun State, Oba Yisau Bantale Oyetunji Otunla, Kodaolu1, has called for the unflinching support of the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Aare Gani Adams to the festival.

The Olukoyi, made this call on Monday during his courtesy visit to Aare’s country home in Lagos.

Oba Otunla who said, it is imperative for the Aare to witness this year’s event added that it would add glamour to the festival globally.

The Olukoyi who highly commended the Aare Gani Adams for his determination towards the promotion of the Yoruba cultural and traditional festivals worldwide, noted that it is a way of showcasing Yoruba’s to the entire world.

“The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land is doing well in promoting the Yoruba Community worldwide and that is why the entire Sons and Daughters of the ancient town of Ikoyi are inviting him to this year Osun-Ikoyi festival holding every October of each year” Olukoyi stated.

According to Oba Otunla, “Ikoyi-Osun festival is an annual festival which brings all indigenes, friends and well wishers from far and near together while it is also an avenue to remember the founders of the ancient town”.

” We are all looking forward to receive our own Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land at this year Osun-Ikoyi festival as his involvement would enhance not only the development and exposure of the annual festival but it would promote the entire Ikoyi land economically and commercially “, Olukoyi added.

While welcoming the Olukoyi and his entourage, Aare Gani Adams lauded the Monarch for promoting the culture and tradition in his domain while calling other traditional rulers to emulate him.

Aare Adams who reiterated his continuous efforts in promoting the entire Yoruba Community globally said, it is now time for the Yoruba’s to be united and speak in one voice.

He however enjoined residents of Ikoyi town as well as philanthropist and government to join hands together with Oba Otunla in celebrating Ikoyi-Osun festival.

With the Aare Adams includes, the OPC Osun State Coordinator, Prince Aladesawe Adedeji and the Advance Chairman of Osun State, Chief Raji Teslim among others.
