Nigerian Baptists Converges on Ogbomoso for its 106th Annual Convention

Baptist’s in Nigeria and affiliated African countries have converged on the ancient city of Ogbomoso in Oyo state for its 106th Annual Convention in Session.
The theme for this year’s Convention is “Moving Forward: Buildung A Great Church Through Faithful Stewardship” with the text taking from 1Peter 4:10.
The annual gathering of the Baptists is holding at Beulah Centre in Ogbomoso South Local Government Area between Saturday, April 27 – Thursday, May 2, 2019.
The opening session was moderated by the Nigerian Baptist Convention, NBC, President, Rev Dr Supo Ayokunle who also doubles as the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Chairman, NBC, Rev Dr Olumide Kehinde.
At the opening session program today, Saturday, the Ogbomoso Baptist Conference President, Rev Dr Thomas Niyi Ojo delivered the welcome address and thanked God for the journey mercies to Ogbomoso land.
He encouraged delegates that aside spiritual exercise, they should use the opportunity to visit heritage sites in Ogbomoso land including visiting the palace of the Soun of Ogbomoso to see one of the oldest tortoises in the world.
Revd Dr Nkem Osiugwe delivered the charge while the President, Rev Dr Supo Ayokunle anchored the prophetic prayer of consecration of the 106th Session to the Lord.
There was a drama ministration by NIBDRA, a Nigerian Baptist Convention Drama Group on the theme of the Convention during the opening session.
