Ede Polytechnic Graduates 10,733 Students
The Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun, on Tuesday said 10,733 graduants of the institution would be honoured during it 10th convention anniversary that would be taking place on Saturday.
Dr John Adekolawole, the Rector of the Polytechnic made this known during a press conference held to herald activities of the week long convocation ceremony of the institution.
Adekolawole said 8,338 graduants with Ordinary National Diploma and 2,395 with Higher National Diploma would be given awards, but breakdown of the graduants and their grades would be made available on the convocation day, as the tabulation and breakdowns were still at the press.
The rector added that five eminent Nigerians, who had contributed to the development of the institution would also be honoured with Fellowship Awards and Awards of Excellence on the convocation day.
He reeled out the various achievement of the institution in terms of physical infrastructure development, entrepreneural development, innovations and accreditation of new academic programmes by National Board for Technical Education.
He equally stated the challenges the institution is facing, which includes: inadequate man power, security breaches, infrastructural deficit among others, calling on the Federal Government, friends and partners of the institution to come to their aid.
Adekolawole, who became the Rector of the institution in November 2017, however said despite all that the institution was going through, the convocation ceremony of the institution would be celebrated with fun fare.
He said main activities will start from tomorrow (Wednesday) with novelty football matches between staff of the institution and staff of Fountain University, Osogbo, while the school students would also play with students of Adeleke University students, Ede.
He said the convocation and conferment of Awards would hold on Saturday while interdenominational thanksgiving will climax the convocation ceremony on Sunday
