Osun: Bukoy Thanks Constituents Over His Victory

BEING THE ACCEPTANCE SPEECH OF HON OLUBUKOLA OYEWO, HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES MEMBER-ELECT, OSOGBO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY.

Dearest People of the Irepodun/Olorunda/Orolu/Osogbo Federal Constituency,

The rigor and stress our party, the All Progressives Congress went through during the campaign has been rewarded by your massive support and votes during the last Saturday’s election.

Your patience and steadfastness during the unexpected postponement of the polls and peaceful conduct throughout the moments is an affirmation that our constituency is the most peaceful and most ideological zone in the country.

You have decided the fate of our constituency for the next four years by voting me as your representative in the lower chamber of the National Assembly and it is on this note that I’m humbled by your support, loyal to your ideology, aware of the sacrifice made by our gladiators and you, and ready for the task ahead.

As I said in my robust and developmental oriented manifestos, which are drawn from the needs of our constituency, I shall remain the voice and image in the National Assembly for the period. The time to sacrifice for the development of our communities and I shall take the lead in working assiduously towards a better lives for all and sundry.

I dedicate this victory to the everyone in my constituency – the youths, elders, artisans, market women and men, civil servants, entrepreneurs and religious leaders.

This victory is a victory for our party (APC), the Party leadership, loyalists and supporters who have devoted their time, resources and energy towards the progressive agenda. We shall all live to see a better constituency and a constituency that will be an envy of all (Amen).

My sincere appreciation goes to our party leaders and loyalists who have reposed confidence in me by picking me as the flagbearer and I promise not to disappoint you as I proceed to the green chambers. I’ll continue to tow the path of progressivism and never to derail. Without your support, this victory may remain a dream.

My utmost gratitude to my family especially my wife, Mrs. Foluke Oyewo for their undaunted support during the doubtful times. I’m eternally grateful to the campaign team, protocols and strategic team, media team and all other stakeholders who contributed in various ways to this victory.

Lastly, I want to also congratulate and inform my fellow contestants, most especially Alhaji Maruf Adewale Adebayo Gangaria that my doors are widely open for your advice and suggestions that are aimed at propelling our constituency to the next level. No victor, No vanquished!
