By Jide Afolabi
Honourable Yinka Olatunbosun has sympathised with the people of Ile-Ife especially, victims of the recent flood that engulfed the city last Sunday stating that he was saddened by the unfortunate incident.
Olatunbosun who is an aspirant under the aegis of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to the State of Osun House Of Assembly, Ife East Constituency noted that it was unfortunate that Ile-Ife still experienced such devastation despite government’s huge resources channelled towards roads expansion in the state.
The statement reads: “As heavy rains battered many areas in the ancient city of Yoruba land, Ile Ife on Sunday (July 29th, 2018), I am deeply saddened at the tragic of many who were reportedly injured while trying to save their properties from destruction”.
“I offer my heartfelt condolences to every one and to all residents who reside at Mayfair, Damico, Asherifa, Ede road, Aladanla, amongst other areas where houses were submerged and properties destroyed at the areas affected by the rain”.
Olatunbosun noted that, “flood incident is rather unfortunate and devastating in the sense that, despite the huge resources channelled towards roads expansion in the state led by the Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, we are still witnessing such painful occurrence”.
He stated further that, “though, this flood is between man and nature. But there are lot we can do to prevent future occurrence. Let us team up together and make Ife great again”.
He prayed that may God comfort and increase the victims in wealth and health.
