In Osun: Court Remands Man, 27, Over Alleged Phone Snatching

A Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, the capital of Osun has remanded a a 27-year-old man, Ibrahim Lukuman in prison custody for allegedly snatching a Techo D8 handset, valued at N13,000.

Lukuman according a charge sheet obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday arraigned before Magistrate Awodele modupe Adedoyin on a two-count charge bothering on Robbery.
The prosecutor Inspector Joshua Oladoye said the accused committed the offence on June 6, 2018 at about 10pm at B-top filling stations Osunjela area, Osogbo.
He said the accused armed himself with dangerous weapons and robbed one Alabi Precious of her a cash sum of N32,600.
He also alleged that the accused also robbed one Komolafe Samson of his Techo D8 handset valued 13,000.
He submitted that the offence contravene Section 1(2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms special provisions act Cap R11 Volume Laws of Federation of Nigeria 2004.
The plea of the accused was not taken and he had no legal representation.
Ruling, the presiding Magistrate said the accused should be kept behind the bar at Ilesha prison custody.
She also ruled that the case file be duplicated and sent to the office of directors for public prosecution.
The case was adjourned till October 10, 2018 for mention.
