BOA Congratulates Muslim Faithfuls As Ramadan Begins
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, has congratulated Muslim faithfuls in the country particularly in the state on the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a message personally signed and made available to journalists in Osogbo on Wednesday, the gubernatorial aspirant admonished all Muslim faithfuls to be more pious in the month of Ramadan and uphold the tenets of Islam.
Alabi who said that fasting was intended to bring Muslims closer to God also reminded them of those less fortunate. Saying there was the need to extend the hand of mercy to the less privileges as it part of what the Holy month teaches.
“It is one of the five obligatory pillars of Islam, along with the Muslim declaration of faith, daily prayers, annual charity — known as “zakat” — and performing the Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah.”
He prays that, “as we prepare to start this year’s Ramadan, may Almighty Allah keep us alive throughout, grant us good health, willingness, zeal, ability and all we need and want to enable us commence and conclude the fasting successfully. May we grab Allah’s immense forgiveness, blessings & mercies inherent in the month of Ramadan.”.
