JCI, Commuters Embrace Clean Environment
Some Commuters in Benin at the Weekend took bold steps towards clean and safe environment, through Campaign initiative of the Junior Chamber International (JCI), Benin city.
The group in their efforts joined the commuters and cleared the flooded gutters at Adolor street junction on Ugbowo Lagos Express road in Benin.
The social impact project which was in collaboration with Edo state Ministry of Environment and ECO television, Lagos, lasted for two hours.
Some Pedestrians scoff at the male and female active citizens during the exercise which the later considers as a lunch-pad ahead of September 13, 2018 World Clean up Day.
National Vice President of JCI, South-South and South East districts, Amb. Iyamu Osaro Culture predicted that households at Adolor Community have heave sighs of relief from a potential epidemic as a result of their intervention.
President of JCI, Benin Metropolitan, Amb. Bevy Efe Kpohraror, said the essence of the exercise was to educate Citizens to make “waste management a priority, adding that the wellbeing of any nation was dependent on healthy environment”.
The Director of Eco television, Mr. Ademola Daniel, harped on the importance of clean environment, while, Mrs. Ehis Ogedengbe (businesswoman) and Mrs. Florence Osaghae (resident), commended the gesture.
They specifically appealed to the state government to walk the talk on the completion of construction of Adolor road to avoid lood disaster during the upcoming wet season.
