2019 General Election: Cleric Counsels Aspirants
Contestants in this years election and 2019 general elections have been advised not to play up religion as a bait to win the votes of the electorate just as spiritual leaders should resist the temptation of playing into the hands of politicians.
The advice was given by the Spiritual leader of Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide ,Professor Sabit OOlagoke during the grand finale of the 2018 Ishrat which took place at the corporate head quarter of the mission Wakajaye Ibadan on Saturday.
The President of Ajagun Esin Consultative Forum (AECF) said that no patriotic and God fearing politician would use religion to cause violence and upheavals in the country stressing that religion was expected to be used as a catalyst for growth and development rather than division.
He called on all those aspiring to govern or lead the country in one form or the other not to see public offices as an avenue for looting but an opportunity to serve their country with the fear of God.
The renowned cleric appealed to all and sundry to shun hate speeches which could cause violence in the country adding that we have nothing to gain from living in disunity.
He pointed out that all religious leaders should coexist the quintessence point where they focus on issues of tranquillity of mind and the peace of environment reforming adherents to transform the society.
The Rector of the Pyrotechnic Ilaro in Ogun state Arch.Olusegun Aluko who was among the scores of Nigerians honoured during the occasion commended Olagoke for his impact on education and religion adding that he was an asset to the Polytechnic from where he retired recently
The Rector called on all religious leaders to emulate Olagoke who he observed was passionate about the work of God where he noted that he has consistently been promoting religious harmony.
The Oluwo of Iwo in Osun state ,Oba Abdulraheem Abdulraheem Adewale Akande who commended Shafauden Mission for propagating Islam peacefully called on the Founder of the Mission not to rest on his oars.
Scores of the leaders of the mission were honoured and elevated to higher spiritual titles with Teribiya Musaudeen ,Imam Shafaudeen Cote d’Ivoire praising God for the success of the occasion.
