Police Nab Deadly Kidnappers On Wanted List
A Motorists plying Kaduna-Abuja road and residents of Jere-Kagarko Road as well as those of Jere-Katari axis of Kaduna State, will heave a sigh of relief, as daredevil kidnappers who had been terrorising motorists and the residents, have been rounded up by Inspector-General of Police Response Team (IRT).
The Team headed by no-nonsense Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abba Kyari, rounded up the hardened suspects last Sunday.
It was gathered that detectives of IRT attached to Operation Absolute Sanity on Abuja-Kaduna expressway stormed the hide out of the suspected kidnappers at about 11.30pm.
Dependable source hinted that in an effort to arrest them, they opened fire at the police detectives resulting in severe injuries on the part of the suspects.
However, due to superior fire power of the police, two of them were arrested, while two AK47 rifles, with serial numbers 5390 and 25401 with 135 live ammunition, were recovered from them.
Some of them were said to have escaped with bullet wounds.
According to a reliable source at IRT, the two deadly kidnappers had been on our wanted list
The source gave the names of the two suspects as: Adamu Lawan 30 years and Aminu Lawan 25 years.
According to our source, a the suspects confessed to have been involved in several kidnappings along Abuja-Kaduna express way and Jere-Kagarko Road all in Kaduna State.
We have mounted serious efforts to arrest more of the gang members, the source disclosed
