Osun PDP Ward Congress Inconclusive As Violence Mars Exercise

By Olabode Abolaji
There seems to be another dent to the peace moves instituted by the Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP as the Ward Congresses held last weekend in local governments across the state ended inconclusively.
According to the preliminary report of the congresses released on the 22nd of October, 2017 available at our disposal, the congresses in many local governments were either partially concluded or not concluded.
PDP Ward Congress Preliminary Report 1
The results obtained exclusively by our correspondent shows that the congress was partially concluded in 16 local governments, not conducted in 5 local governments with 9 local governments electing their delegates.
In the full summary, 224 wards were concluded out of the 332 wards in the state while 57 wards are yet to be conducted, 51 were inconclusive.
There are also reports that some party members who lost the election are still yet to come to terms with the preliminary result released by the Gabriel Suswam led committee.
It is therefore unclear the kind of events that could unfold in the coming days as there might be different showdowns within the rank and file of the party of the state particularly interests in the Osun 2018 Governorship ticket of the party.
