Group Commends Ebonyi Gov, Umahi For Redefining Governance
Lady Monica Eze, the President and Founder of a grassroots NGO, the David Umahi Nweze Akubaraoha Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA) has commended Governor David Umahi for exhibiting vision, prudence in the discharge of his duties as the helmsman of Ebonyi State.
The group also lauded Umahi for using his office as the Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum to ensure that the plot to annihilate the Igbo race was scuttled.
Lady Monica, an indigene of Ebonyi State born in Adamawa State in a statement commended the wisdom of the South East Governors’ Forum in dousing the tension generated by secessionist agitators which could have made the situation more worse.
The DUNAETA leader said “For Governor Umahi in conjunction with other Governors from the South East to have succeeded to douse the highly volatile and tensed environment by taken the actions they took surely demonstrates that the South East Governors can be trusted as true Igbo Leaders and should be accorded the required respect and honour for saving the Igbo race from annihilation and scuttling a war that would have taken us a race hundred years backward to survive.”
“DUNAETA Leader also congratulated the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Kashim Shettima who played a very vital and patriotic role in collaborating and initiating several peaceful meetings to ensure that the plots of the enemies of our country did not come to pass.”
“For the Northern Governors Forum to have sent some delegates to the SS & SE States to assure the nation of the safety and security of Igbos in the North simply show their love for one virile, vibrant, egalitarian, indissoluble and united Nigeria.”
Lady Monica Eze also called on the gladiators to fashion out strategies as a key antidote to ensuring peace in South Eastern Nigeria.
“Having said this, I will like to urge the Federal Government under the able leadership of our father, President Muhammad Buhari to critically and passionately look at the issues that gave birth to these agitations and address them accordingly to avoid the reoccurrence of this unwarranted situation in our polity that is capable of scuttling our fragile democracy.”
“It is a fact that the SE region has suffered untold neglects in areas of dwindling and decayed infrastructure. More serious efforts must be channelled to address the unmotorable roads in the South East region. The second Niger Bridge must be delivered. The region must be linked with rail lines and most importantly our teeming unemployed youths must be employed and not discriminated against any more.”
The Technical Adviser to Governor David Umahi on Media and Publicity also called on the Federal Government to work hand in hand with all relevant organizations in Igboland to look at the grey areas while all marginalization allegations cum claims should be properly addressed.
“Finally, the additional State due to the region must be created. We urge a powerful Team comprising of our Governors, Leadership of Ohanaze Ndi Igbo, Traditional, Religious and political leaders from the region should sit and articulate these views and meet our dear President over them as a matter of urgency to show that they are concerned.”
