Ayodele Warns Tinubu Against Forcing Second-Term Bid

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has warned that Nigeria could experience casualties if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu insists on seeking re-election in 2027.

Ayodele gave the warning in a video in which he expressed concern over the country’s political situation ahead of the next presidential election.

The cleric predicted that the election could proceed to a run-off, a development he suggested might make it difficult for Tinubu to retain power.

He also raised the possibility of a state of emergency being declared, which he said could disrupt the electoral process without producing a clear outcome.

Addressing the President directly, Ayodele said, “I want to tell Tinubu straight, if this election goes to run-off, sincerely you will not win. As it is now, election might go to run-off.”

He urged Tinubu and members of his family to take his warning seriously, irrespective of whether they agreed with his position.

“Tinubu needs prayers. Tinubu’s family should listen to me now, you may like my words or not,” the cleric said.

Ayodele further expressed uncertainty about the outcome of the President’s administration if he pursued a second term, warning of possible casualties.

“If Tinubu enforces himself to go for second time, I don’t know what may happen. I am not seeing the end of that government. There may be casualties,” he stated.

The cleric maintained that his prediction was not based solely on political calculations, adding that Tinubu could still defeat former Vice President Atiku Abubakar under certain circumstances.

However, he argued that the political atmosphere had changed and suggested that the President might struggle to secure victory if an election were held under the prevailing conditions.

Ayodele warned that the consequences of the anticipated political developments could affect the country, expressing hope that Nigeria would be spared any such outcome.

“Nigeria will suffer it but we don’t want Nigeria to suffer,” he added.
