The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industries and representative of Osun East Senatorial District, Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR, has urged Nigerians to unite across ethnic, religious and regional divides in the collective effort to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.

Fadahunsi, in a message to Nigerians to mark the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, also called for continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence in its Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Ijesa-born lawmaker, in a statement issued by his Head of Media and Public Enlightenment, Omole Oluwasegun Omo-Osodi, congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad and urged citizens to remain committed to the peace, unity and development of the country.

He said Nigeria’s challenges could only be effectively addressed when citizens put aside their differences and work together for the common good.

“On this Independence Day, let us commit ourselves to Nigeria’s unity and collective improvement. Regardless of ethnic, religious, or regional differences, we must see each other as brothers and sisters,” Fadahunsi said.

The senator called for concerted efforts towards growing the economy, creating jobs, improving food security, educating young Nigerians and strengthening healthcare and national security.

“Together, we should focus on growing the economy, creating jobs, feeding the hungry, educating our youth, caring for the sick, and protecting our people from those who wish to harm us,” he said.

Fadahunsi also urged Nigerians to support the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration, saying the government had demonstrated what he described as good intentions towards repositioning the country.

“Let us continue to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to actualize his policies and programmes. He has good intentions for Nigeria. We will get it right,” the senator stated.

The lawmaker said the effects of the administration’s economic reforms were, in his assessment, becoming evident, while also pointing to what he described as significant improvements in national security over the past three years.

He, however, stressed the need for continued collective efforts by government and citizens to address the challenges confronting the nation and ensure that the benefits of development reach ordinary Nigerians.

As the country marks 66 years of independence, Fadahunsi urged citizens to remember the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers and uphold the values of unity, peace, justice and tolerance.

He also appealed to residents of Osun East Senatorial District to participate actively in the democratic process, urging them to come out on January 16, 2027, to vote for candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The senator expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying the country could overcome its present difficulties through collective commitment, perseverance and faith.

“Happy Independence Day to all Nigerians. As we mark 66 years, let us remember the sacrifices of our founding fathers and recommit to their ideals of unity, peace, justice, and tolerance.

“Though challenges remain, with God’s grace, Nigeria will overcome and emerge stronger,” he added.
