Osun Poll: Adeleke Dismisses Oyinlola’s APC Endorsement, Says ‘It Won’t Affect My Victory’

Former Accord Party senatorial aspirant for Osun Central, Olusegun Elijah Olasunkanmi, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the August 15 governorship election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the people’s confidence in his administration.

Olasunkanmi also commended the people of Osun State for their resilience, courage and steadfastness in standing firmly behind the Governor throughout the electoral process.

In a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, Olasunkanmi said the victory demonstrated that the people of Osun had spoken clearly through the ballot and reaffirmed their confidence in Adeleke’s leadership.

He said the renewed mandate was a significant responsibility that should inspire the Governor to do more for the development and prosperity of the state.

According to him, the outcome of the election showed that the people appreciated the efforts of the Adeleke administration in improving infrastructure, workers’ welfare and other sectors of the state.

Olasunkanmi praised the electorate for remaining resolute despite the intense political atmosphere that characterised the electioneering period.

He said: “I congratulate our Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on this well-deserved victory. I also congratulate the good people of Osun State for standing firmly behind their Governor and for demonstrating resilience throughout the electoral process.

“This victory is not only for Governor Adeleke and his supporters; it is a victory for the people of Osun State who have exercised their democratic rights and made their choice through the ballot.”

The former senatorial aspirant urged Adeleke to see his second-term victory as a fresh call to service, stressing that the expectations of the people would be higher in the next phase of his administration.

He further called on all political actors and supporters across the state to put the election behind them and work together for peace, unity and sustainable development.

Olasunkanmi expressed confidence that Adeleke would use the renewed mandate to consolidate the achievements of his first term and deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.

He also urged the Governor to extend a hand of fellowship to those who contested against him, saying governance after an election should be about serving all citizens irrespective of political affiliation.

Olasunkanmi wished Governor Adeleke a successful second term in office and prayed for wisdom, good health and the strength to deliver on the mandate given to him by the people of Osun State.
