Impact In Leadership Position By Samson Owoyokun

My joy knows no bounds tonight.

This is one of my testaments as a public office holder when I served with the Osun State Government under former Governor, H.E., Gboyega Oyetola as SSA, Special Duties as one of my contributions in ideas towards good governance materialised finally.

On 1st October 2021, Faith Abisola Adegboyega won the maiden edition of our Secondary School Essay Competition organised by the Ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties. Engr. Olalekan Badmus, now an Executive Director at NPA, was the political head and Honourable Commissioner of our ministry.

At the public presentation of the winners in both the University and Secondary School categories at the Governor’s Office in Abeere, His Excellency, Gboyega Oyetola, there and then promised an OSSG scholarship to Faith to cater for her tertiary education.

As fate and providence would have it, Faith passed her WAEC in one sitting with excellent grades and also scored high marks in her UTME, same year. The ministry was very instrumental in her securing admission into UniOsun to study Nursing, with government financial support.

Throughout her studies at UniOsun, I kept track of Faith and her academic progress, as she consistently kept me abreast of all her academic activities, including sending me her results for every semester.

Tonight, Faith’s Dad sent pictures from her signing-out ceremony as a graduate of Nursing from the prestigious UniOsun.

Every dream is valid, and the future is open.

Many thanks to the members of staff of our ministry who supported the idea and great appreciation to my brother, Engr. Sowade Oluwakayode (ED, Ogun Osun River Basin Authority) who supported the essay competition for three consecutive years with laptops and car gifts.

Congratulations to Adegboyega Abisola Faith, RN, RM, RPHN, BNSc.
