Chaos As Trailer Falls On Otedola Bridge
It was a chaotic scene at the popular Otedola Bridge inward Lagos early Friday following a double accident which caused massive gridlock along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command disclosed that the first accident involved an overturned trailer.
It said the fully loaded truck spilled its consignments onto the road and covered about 90 percent of the carriageway.
The RRS noted that the second accident occurred directly behind the first crash, compounding traffic disruption in the area.
“Emergency responders have been alerted. Motorists are advised to drive with caution around the area,” the RRS said in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, eyewitness said the traffic gridlock that resulted from the crashes stretched backwards from the Otedola Bridge to the Berger axis, as motorists heading into Lagos sought alternative routes.
