Osun Police Command Declares Man Wanted Over Homosexual Allegation

The Osun State Police Command has declared one Mr Kabir Ayobami Adekunle, a resident of Ede, Osun State wanted over allegations of homosexuality.

Adekunle a manager of of Osun United Football Club who is currently at large was alleged to have engaged in homosexual activities with his neighbor, Ademola Adeniji.

According to the police signal exclusively obtained by CityMirrorNews, signed by Shitu Abimbola, a Chief Superintendent of Police, Adekunle was invited for investigation but ignore the invitation and invaded subsequent arrest efforts by the police.

The State police command explained that all efforts to trace Adekunle has been proved abortive which necessitated the police to declare him wanted.

The suspect was declared wanted on February 4, 2024 when he was not forthcoming for investigation after several invitations.

The police however called on members of the public with useful information about Adekunle to approach the police command or the nearest police station.

Homosexual is a criminal offence in Nigeria law that attracts the minimum of 14 years jail term upon conviction.

Same sex sexual activity is prohibited under the Criminal Code Act and the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act 2013 (SSMPA), which criminalise acts of ‘carnal knowledge against the order of nature’, ‘gross indecency’, same-sex.

Apart, from 2013, Criminal Code Act, the offence also attracts death penalty by stoning in Nigeria Sharia Law in some states where they are practicing Sharia.
