Why Soludo Was Re-elected -Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that Professor Chuwuma Soludo’s re-election as Governor of Anambra State is a “testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance.”

Tinubu said this in a Sunday statement he personally signed to congratulate Soludo.

The President said Soludo’s “overwhelming victory” in Saturday’s governorship election makes him the third governor in Anambra’s history to win a second term, adding that the result “is a testament to his sterling performance and the people’s confidence in his leadership.”

Tinubu was also full of praises for the people of Anambra State, the security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring the peaceful and credible conduct of the election.

“Professor Soludo’s re-election is a testament to his visionary leadership and the significant progress the state has made under his guidance,” Tinubu said. Adding, he said, “He has demonstrated that knowledge is power and that academic principles can be effectively applied in governance.”

Recalling his visit to Anambra earlier in the year, President Tinubu said he was impressed by the projects executed under Soludo’s administration, even as he described the governor as a disciplined and brilliant leader who has brought “a fresh perspective to governance in Anambra.”

“Under him, Anambra is truly living up to its motto as the Light of the Nation,” Tinubu said

He, however, urged Soludo to be magnanimous in victory and to work with his political opponents in the interest of unity and continued progress.

Tinubu also assured the Anambra governor of his administration’s unwavering support and expressed readiness for continued collaboration between the Federal Government and the Anambra State Government.

The President who praised All Grand Progressives Alliance (APGA) for its performance, stated: “The victory of the opposition party demonstrates the vitality of our political system and that victory for any progressive and hardworking leader can hardly be denied.”

Tinubu commended the new INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, for conducting what he described as a credible election, while urging the commission to “maintain the standards and continue improving the nation’s electoral system.”
