INEC Deploys 5 Commissioners For Osun West Bye Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has deployed five national commissioners to supervise the Osun West Senatorial bye election slated for July 8th 2017.
The Administrative Secretary of the Commission in Osun State, Mr Emmanuel Ademusire made the disclosure at a stakeholders meeting held in Iwo, the headquarters of the district.
Ademusire stated that the Commission would adopt Simultaneous accreditation and voting system for the election with the use of newly developed card reader machines.
While warning Politicians with motive to sabotage eftorts of the Commission, the Administrative Secretary vowed to ensure strict compliance with the provisiom of the law before and during the election.
The Director, Planning and Monitoring at the INEC Headquarters in Abuja, Mr Okechukwu Ndeche enjoined every stakeholders to work with the commission to deliver a generally acceptable election.
Representatives of Polical Parties at the meeting appreciated the Commission for being transparent and expressed optimism that the election would be credible.
The Commission used to the opportunity to present political parties representatives with documents containing Directory of polling units, List of polling centres, collation centres and list of political parties that will participate in the election.
