We’ll collaborate with OSPOLY Mgt to enhance Quality Of Our Graduates-OSPOLY Alumni
The First Set Alumni Association of Osun State Polytechnic Iree pioneer executive members on Thursday paid its first official visit to the management of the institution.
The courtesy visit was meant to familiarise the Pioneer Executive members with the management of the institution and to convey the goodwill of the very first set who got admitted over thirty years ago and has been able to come together recently to see what they can contribute to their Alma Mata.
The executive members were received by the Rector of the institution, Mr Kehinde Alabi and other members of the management, which include the Director of Media and Public Relations, Mr Adebayo Fadeji; the Director of Career Development, Mr Lekan Adekunle; and Director of Alumni relationship, Mrs. Adediran Grace.
The First Set Executive members present are the President, Hon Funmiso Babarinde (JP); the Chief Financial Officer, Mr Dapo Dada; the Welfare Secretary, Mrs. Bola Oguntunde; the Assistant General Secretary, Mr Debo Osobu; and the Public Relations Officer, Mr Olukayode Ayinde.
The executive members, on behalf of the First Set, appreciate the good work of the management and the growth the institution has witnessed in recent times under the leadership of the present Rector and the management. The awards won by the institution and research grants showed the tenacity of both academics and non-academic staff efforts in giving quality education to the students.
The inter-institution collaboration with the University of Ilorin and Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka in the area of carrier advancement for acquiring degrees was also commended.
The first Set Alumni Association also noted the challenges that are confronting the institution in the areas of facilities and educational support. While the President, on behalf of the whole members of the First Set, promised to collaborate with the management and to first have a full media documentary about the institution that will be on YouTube so that the whole world can see the good things that are going on in the institution and its challenges for adequate support. The government can’t do it all, the alumni association and philanthropists can come in to support the institution to make it a first choice of academic learning.
There were visits to some of the old administrative buildings and lecture halls that the set used while in the school, while some other new facilities were appreciated.
Meanwhile, the executive team verbally informed the management of its upcoming reunion program slated for November in Ibadan. This reunion is meant to bring together all members both home and in diaspora for the first time after three decades of being together in the iree community for academic pursuit.
