Prof. Clement Odunayo Adebooye,
the Vice Chancellor of Osun State University, says the University has recruited additional qualified lecturers, as the school matriculates over 400 part-time student.
Adebooye made this known at the 11th UNIOSUN matriculation program, where over 400 students were admitted into the University’s part-time degree programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
He said the university management has also improved the remuneration of facilitators involved in the part-time programme.
“To sustain academic rigor and deliver top-notch instruction, Management has recruited additional qualified lecturers and increased the remuneration of our dedicated facilitators”.
“We believe that quality education begins with quality teaching. We are deliberately investing in our staff to ensure that you receive the best academic guidance possible,” He stated.
Adebooye congratulated the matriculating students, describing them as “ambitious, determined, and forward-looking.”
He commended them for their courage in choosing the part-time programme despite the challenges of balancing academic work with other life commitment.
Highlighting the University’s dedication to academic excellence and inclusive access to quality education, the vice chancellor emphasized that the part-time degree programme remains a vital arm of the institution’s broader vision.
He also reassured the new students that the University has taken bold steps to ensure a seamless and fulfilling academic experience for them.
“Our results processing system has been fully digitised, enabling timely release of results and graduation without delay. This improvement reflects our integrity and commitment to academic progress,” he noted.
He also announced that the University had recently procured a Riso machine and other modern instructional facilities, specifically to enhance the operations of the Centre for Part-Time Studies.
These investments, he said, are aimed at delivering a world-class learning environment to part-time students.
However, the Vice-Chancellor warned that the university maintains a zero-tolerance policy on all forms of indiscipline, including examination malpractice, cultism, and indecent dressing.
He urged the students to uphold the values of diligence, integrity, and good conduct at all times.
He encouraged the matriculating students to make good use of the University’s resources, attend lectures regularly, and build meaningful relationships that will contribute to their academic and personal growth.
Also speaking at the event, Prof. Bosede Akanbi, Director of the Centre for Part-Time Studies, and an associate professor in economics, highlighted the flexibility and accessibility of the part-time degree programme, especially for the working class.
According to her, Osun State University has designed the programme to accommodate individuals who wish to pursue higher education while maintaining their careers, describing the part-time initiative as a golden opportunity for individuals who desire academic advancement without sacrificing their weekday commitments.
Bosede emphasized that one of the key reasons the part-time programme stands out is the prompt release of students’ results after graduation.
“There are no delays, Once students complete their studies, results are processed and released without bureaucratic bottlenecks’. She assured.
