According to the VC , at a time like this when there is increase in societal, national and global challenges, the wisest decision any Government and nation can take is to invest more in quality education.

“To to solve almost all the problems of Nigeria today, good education and advances in science and technology have very great roles to play.

“Osun State has been specially blessed with this highly promising University: a University that has defied all challenges, including an expensive multi-campus architecture against dwindling economic resources

“The University has proved itself to be highly and potentially feasible, just as it has shown exceptional focus and commitment to the ideals of a globally competitive 21” Century university in excellence and relevance.

“We need more of support, and I assure you on behalf of the Governing Council, Management and entire staff and students of this University that we will never let you down.

He however, said no fewer than 59 graduating students received certificates as first-class from several disciplines.

The VC said a total of 2,409 degrees and diplomas conferred upon deserving graduates, stating that 2,145 first-degree holders, 10 postgraduate diploma recipients, 214 master’s degree graduates, and 40 doctoral degree awardees.

However, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke commended the university management for their high-quality leadership and commitment to academic excellence despite global economic challenges.

Governor Adeleke said: “I must commend the Governing Council of this University under the leadership of Professor Wale Oladipo for the high-quality leadership and visionary guidance the Council is fostering in this University.

“I thank you for ensuring that UNIOSUN is forging ahead in spite of the globally socio-economic realities. That the University can hold its convocation for the 2023/2024 academic session under the current economic realities indicates the University’s commitment to the business of teaching and learning.

“I have noted that UNIOSUN has established a “no-strike” “no aluta” tradition, and it is these that keep the University up when other schools are down. This culture of no strike and no aluta does not in any way presuppose oppression or dictatorship. Rather, it is an indication of good leadership at all levels of the University governance,” Mr Governor added.
