Osun SWAN To Celebrate World Sports Journalist Day With Games
The Osun state chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN will on Tuesday July 2nd 2024 join other sports journalists across the world in celebrating the World Sports Journalists Day.
The world Sport Journalists day is celebrated every 2nd of July to mark the services of sports journalists for the promotion of sports.
This day has been earmarked as the official day of celebration because of its significance as the date when the International Sports Press Association was established at the 1924 Paris Olympics.
The event is scheduled to hold at the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Osun NUJ in Osogbo where SWAN members will compete in various game categories including Ludo, Ayo Olopon, Draught and Whot.
A statement signed by the Association’s Chairman, Timothy Agbor and Assistant Secretary, Segun Fadoro, encouraged members to participate actively in the event that will kick start at 12noon prompt.
The statement further revealed that sports stakeholders and sports enthusiasts can join the games.
